I am a weaver and a mixed media artist. Emotionally, I struggle with issues involving family, personal history and relationships and try to render these issues visually with a certain veil of universality. I work from found images or personal images and subsequently translate them into the tapestry language or into collages that I coat in resin or other plastics. I am interested in the soft, fluid and yet excruciating process of tapestry weaving juxtaposed to the fast nature of paper collages that are then sealed in a hard, permanent, water-proof material.

As a graduate student, I am working to intertwine these formal aspects of my work into one cohesive style. With my work, and much research I am hoping to invoke the feelings of isolation that I so often felt as a middle child as well as entice conversation and analysis of everyday interactions and relationship dynamics.
